Cantilever

Cantilever is a gravity-defying coffee table made from maple, wenge, and zircote. The zircote table top is affixed to four wenge beams that seemingly balance upon a steel rod. Opposite the tabletop, the beams are tied to the weighted base using a smaller diameter steel rod. The secret to cantilever's impossible design is a concrete block placed within the maple base in addition to its pivot point being close to the center of the final assembly.
