Skeid

Skeid means "that which cuts through water" in Norse, and is a large warship used by the Vikings. This Skeid is a mechanical push toy made from oak and fabric. When rolled along the ground, Skeid's internal mechanism raises and lowers the oars in a rowing motion.

Mechanism

Skeid's rowing action is achieved through a simple gravity powered mechanism that engages with two offset dowels affixed to the rear wheels.
